This sculpture explores machine learning and human intuition as parallel ways of interpreting the experience of doomscrolling. It emerged from an iterative, artist-directed AI process using my own writing and photographs of abstract ceramic works as source material. Through hundreds of guided image generations, three recurring motifs emerged: a red glove, human teeth, and a metallic object. Images from this collaborative AI process were further developed into framed prints, Doomscroller I, II, and III.

These motifs inform a stoneware form joined to industrial tubing shaped into an infinity symbol, evoking the endless cycle of the digital feed. Amoeba-like purple and pink porcelain chunks hold casts of human teeth, while a ruby-red glove drapes over the structure. Together, these materials examine the tension between algorithmic pattern recognition and human meaning-making.
