Rubble Fritz, Single channel video, iphone, ceramic, acrylic glass, epoxy clay, copper wire, 19 x 10 x 3 in. 2017

Examining crossovers between media archaeology and the planetary, this assemblage is composed of a fossil-like imprint of a smartphone on carbon-coated ceramics, displaying video content of discarded media, landscapes, and color-blocked glitch imagery, created by filtering photos through sound waves. The black and white striped “worms” on the acrylic surface connect with the stripes of the glitch and reference the transfer of energy between Earth, media, and digital culture.
