INSTALLATION OF HORIZON LINES (LEFT) AT GRIN, PROVIDENCE, RI
Horizon Lines refers to the irreducible malleability of our surroundings. When we see a phenomenon such as the sun setting on the horizon, it functions as both a limit, where the sky and the earth converge, but also as a space of limitless exceedance.
In the circular video, a horizon line shifts with saturated, colored blocks and movements of the sky’s light, spurting momentary glitches and irregularity,. This emphasizes how technology elevates and intersects this phenomenon.
Lustrous, silver blobs are scattered on the dimpled disc and its periphery. Their ambiguous, random shapes and reflective, shiny surfaces reference the energy of all things that come together to formulate a wondrous atmosphere.
